The area surrounding The Sagamore is rich in history. Fighting among the French, British and native population occurred in the lake region during the French and Indian War, and is recorded by James Fennimore Cooper in The Last of The Mohicans .

Visit historic Fort William Henry, where guides wearing attire of the 18th century will show you what life was like with cannon firings and much more.

Ride one of the country's top ten roller coasters, The Steamin' Demon, at the Great Escape Amusement Park, play miniature golf or shop 'til you drop at the Lake George Factory Outlet malls.
