Jay Adelson
CTO and Founder, Equinix

Since founding the company with Al Avery in 1998, Jay Adelson has provided strategic leadership and vision in keeping with the promise of the Equinix business model. As CTO, Mr. Adelson leads technology development at Equinix in support of the company's mission to build and operate the highest performance points on the Internet. Mr. Adelson is primarily responsible for the design of the Internet Business Exchange centers, as well as the design and deployment of various Equinix services to enhance customers' ability to interconnect with each other in a scalable, reliable fashion. Mr. Adelson is a frequent speaker at leading industry events and investor conferences. Previously, Mr. Adelson was Operations Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation's highly regarded Palo Alto Internet Exchange (PAIX), where he built the Operations team from the ground up and facilitated the interconnectivity of countless Internet Service Providers, carriers and high-volume content providers. Prior to DEC, Mr. Adelson was a founding member of Netcom On-Line Communications, Inc., where he managed both Access and Network Operations. Mr. Adelson was instrumental in the build-out of Netcom's international backbone and regional deployment, including over 230 regional points of presence. Mr. Adelson holds a B.S. in Communications from Boston University.
